"To realize your greatest strengths, you must first overcome your greatest weaknesses"

The reason why so many great people seem perfect or infallible, is not because they are perfect. But because they have learnt how to master their weaknesses. Every man you see has a weak spot. It could be in their character, for some it could be their loved ones, while for others, it could be their lifestyle. But ultimately, human beings by nature have weaknesses they all try to hide. Now, this is where the problem lies, because you shouldn't be hiding your weaknesses or pretending that they do not exist. Instead you should be confronting your weaknesses, because facing them head on is what will make you overcome them and prevent others from using them against you.

The first step to overcoming your weaknesses is:

Identifying and Admitting Your Weaknesses

You cannot solve a problem, until you identify what these problems are. The same applies to your weaknesses, you have to truthfully identify what your weaknesses are before you can overcome them. Ask yourself these questions? What are the usual complains get from other people, concerning my behaviour or character? What are the things I wish I could change about the way I behave?
Another task you can perform, is asking your loved ones, friends and acquaintances to truthfully itemise your defects. This will help you see yourself through the eyes of others.

Work On Them Tirelessly

Admitting and identifying what your weaknesses are is not enough, you have to go a step further by working on these weaknesses. For example, if yours is anger. You need to take a breather and understand what makes you so mad. What is the source of this uncontrollable anger? Why do you get angry easily? Another step is, when you are angry don't just say they first thing that comes to your mind. In fact, if possible don't say anything at alone. Leave that environment, only address the source of your anger when you are calm.
Hence, in fighting your weaknesses, it will take time and patience so be persistent.

Get Professional Help

The last but not the least way to fighting your weaknesses, is to get professional help. There are some cases you cannot win alone, especially in cases like addiction. You need to talk to someone, you need to be counselled and most importantly you need prayers. Therefore, do not be afraid to ask for professional help, for true strength does not come from keeping silent but in speak out. Remember, you can overcome any situation as long as you are ready to fight.
